TODD DALSIMER

I always knew I wanted to design theme parks since I was a kid going to Disneyland with my family and feel so blessed to be able to work in this field for over 25 years now.

I attended college at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena majoring in environmental design. The majority of my career has been at Walt Disney Imagineering, but I have also worked for smaller firms such as BRC Imagination Arts, Wyatt Design Group and Landmark Entertainment Group. Most recently I have worked for Universal Creative in Hollywood and Orlando. I never dreamed of leaving LA, but when I got the opportunity to move to Orlando with Universal, I took it. I was ready for a change and now that my extended family has followed me here I am in Orlando to stay.

Outside of work, if I’m home I love working with my hands building whatever I can. I got to build the playhouse of my dreams for my kids in our backyard in LA. I like to say I built the house I always wanted, but just at a much smaller scale. Unfortunately we had to leave it behind… But I think I’m happiest when I am able to take a road trip and explore. Now that I am living on the East coast I’m excited about all the places to visit that I have never seen before. There is nothing more freeing that being on the open road with a full day ahead of you not knowing what you will find at the other end.
